Redefining Efficiency in Loading & Unloading

At Moffett Automation, our systems are designed to maximise loading and unloading efficiency by positioning pallets exactly where they’re needed, when they’re needed.

Using the integrated pallet buffer, pallets are intelligently allocated closer to outbound conveyors, ready for dispatch. This strategic positioning means that when pallets are required to be unloaded the next morning and loaded onto trailers, they can be accessed immediately, reducing travel time, eliminating unnecessary movements, and accelerating turnaround.

The result is a smoother, faster loading and unloading process that keeps operations flowing and trailers moving on schedule.

Full Automation Means Faster, Smarter Loading & Unloading

In high-throughput warehouse environments, managing peaks and troughs in pallet movement is critical. Without the right strategy, congestion builds, conveyors become bottlenecks, and outbound performance suffers. This is where intelligent buffer management within the Moffett Automation System delivers measurable operational gains.

This delivers clear operational benefits:

• Maximises storage efficiency
• Reduced travel distances and unnecessary pallet movements
• Smooth, continuous pallet flow from storage to trailer

The result: a highly efficient loading and unloading operation where faster turnaround times and predictable dispatch become the standard, not the aspiration.

Intelligent Buffer Management

Moffett Automation’s buffer management system assigns inbound and outbound buffer zones on a per-conveyor basis, positioning pallets close to the conveyors where they will be processed. Inbound pallets are temporarily held in nearby buffers before moving to long-term storage, while outbound pallets can be pre-positioned in advance to enable faster dispatch.

By activating buffers at scheduled times and prioritising pallet movements based on demand and system capacity, the system maintains smooth pallet flow, reduces unnecessary movement, and supports high-throughput, efficient outbound operations.

A Smarter Way to Handle Peaks

Rather than reacting to congestion as it happens, the Moffett Automation System uses intelligent buffer zones to plan ahead, absorbing peaks, smoothing flow, and keeping pallets moving efficiently throughout the day.

The result is a more responsive, high-performance warehouse operation that delivers speed, reliability, and confidence at every stage of pallet handling.
