Due to continued growth, Moffett Automation is recruiting a CAD Technician to join our fast-paced engineering department. Innovation and fast-paced engineering design are at the core of our business and the candidate will work within our newly renovated Monaghan headquarters, the candidate should have a strong passion for innovation and Design refinement and enjoy a busy progressive working environment.
The role
Working within the drawing team at our Innovation centre, you will report directly to the senior engineer. You will be responsible for assisting with the refinement of existing products, design of new solutions, concept designs in Solidworks and in supporting the sales team with 2D AutoCAD layouts. Bringing ideas from customer requirements to engineered solutions will be a daily requirement. Supporting the maintenance and creation of detailed bills of materials will be an ongoing expectation. Helping improve the efficiency of the design of parts through the creation of 2D manufacturing drawings will also be a common requirement.

Desirable Qualification or Experience:
- Experience with CAD systems, Particularly SolidWorks & AutoCAD
- Experience with Sheet Metal Design
- Knowledge of Manufacturing / Working Experience in a workshop-type environment
- Experience in fabrication
- Junior Mechanics,
- Building services, construction
- Similar type role involving the use of tools and building products
Advantageous but not Essential Qualification
- Degree in Engineering Discipline, e.g. Mechanical, Aero etc.
- HND or similar in Mechatronic, Mechanical, Advanced Manufacturing, etc
Duties:
CAD- Computer-Aided Design
- Using Solidworks to create new parts & assemblies
- Detailing Fabrication packages & Purchasing Packages
- Preparing Bills of Materials for fabrication & purchasing
- Following company part numbering systems, & BOM Management systems
- Changing/updating & revising drawings for existing product parts & assemblies
- Using SW & AutoCAD for Layout Design & Concept Development.
- Designing necessary components in CAD and then creating prototypes/physical parts in the factory workshop
Working as a team:
- Taking guidance from multiple departments to help improve new designs & existing product line
- Work internally with sales & project management when required for concept development and doing layouts
